Recently, Chongqing International Construction Corporation (hereinafter to be referred as “CICO”) has successfully won the bid for construction of the Socio--Economic Infrastructure Facilities in Turkana and West Pokot Counties Lot 2 (hereinafter to be referred as“The Turkana community housing project”), which is the first housing project CICO has won in Kenya. The contract amount is 12.73 million US dollars, with a contract period of 6 months and a maintenance period of 6 months. The project includes: four schools, three healthcare centers, a livestock trading market, a parking lot, and three water supply projects.
The Turkana community housing project is part of the World Bank's aid loan project in Kenya. The project is located in Turkana County, northwest Kenya, and is an important part of the East Africa Kenya South Sudan economic corridor plan. After the project is completed, it will greatly improve the living conditions of the local residents, enhance the infrastructure level of Turkana County, and promote the economic and social development of the region.
The housing project is an exploration and breakthrough of CICO Uganda company in implementing development concepts and bidding for road projects, providing a new path for further opening up the Kenyan infrastructure market.CICO will always uphold the principle of "quality first, reputation first", continue to create high-quality livelihood and people-supported projects, deliver on time and with quality and quantity, and lay a more solid foundation for further advancing into the Kenyan infrastructure market.
