The engineering News-Record (ENR) list of the world's top 250 international contractors for 2021 was released on August 18, local time. Chongqing International Construction Corporation (CICO), a subsidiary of Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Corporation Group, ranked 200th in the list, up 7 places from the previous year, marking that CICO has been listed among the world's top 250 international contractors as the only Chongqing enterprise for 9 consecutive years since 2013.

       It is reported that 78 enterprises from mainland China are listed in the "World's top 250 International Contractors" in 2021 organized by the China International Contractors Association, an increase of 4 companies over the previous year, and the number of Chinese enterprises on the list continues to top the list of all countries. It is reported that as one of the first overseas international economic and trade enterprises in China, CICO is the only state-owned enterprise belonging to the city that participates in the general contracting of international projects and the implementation of foreign aid projects. It has been awarded AAA grade enterprise in credit rating evaluation of international contracted projects for 11 consecutive years, and recommended by China International Contractors Association as a global key contractor in 8 countries including Uganda. Statistics show that over the past 30 years, CICO has undertaken more than 200 international engineering projects in more than 20 countries and regions, and many of its projects have won luban Award for Overseas Chinese engineering and National Quality Engineering Award, etc., which has become a multinational construction service provider brand of "Made in Chongqing for overseas projects" in the world, especially in Africa.

       In recent years, CICO always adheres to the bow outward development strategy, closely around creating outstanding multinational building service, making great effort for further development, seizing opportunities, and pushing forward the coordinated development of engineering at home and abroad, accelerating into to build “the belt and the road”, deepening traditional African markets abroad, expanding southeast Asia and South Asia market actively. It has completed overseas market layout in more than 10 countries, such as in Uganda, and basically formed the global engineering market pattern of "expanding the Belt and Road".
