On December 2nd, the construction of the Ganta to Sagleple(39)KM road project, contracted by CICO has been announced to commence. Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Liberia, Liberian President Weah, Counsellor Li Jiang, Chinese Economic and Commercial Counsellor in Liberia, Acting Liberian Minister of Works and other government members attended the commencement ceremony.
President George Weah of Liberia, Ambassador Ren Yisheng of China to Liberia and Vice General Manager Yang Zetao of CICO Liberia Branch jointly laid the foundation stone for the project.
The implementation of the road project will lay a solid foundation for the sustainable and healthy development of Liberian companies, and will create more job opportunities for the local people and improve the economic situation of the local people. As of today, Liberia has six projects under construction, namely the 180KM maintenance project, the 180 extension project, the Kaba Road project, the DRM project, the Siyuan substation project and the road project.
Chinese Ambassador to Liberia Ren Yisheng said that China is Liberia's good friend, good partner and good brother. The Ganta to Sagleple(39)KM road project once again demonstrates the friendly cooperation between the two countries and the profound friendship between the two peoples.
