Recently, the 2020 US "Engineering News Record (ENR)" list of "the world's Top 250 International Contractors" was released, and Chongqing International Construction Corporation ranked 207th, ranking as the world's largest 250 international contractors for the eighth consecutive year.
CICO is the first foreign economic enterprise in Chongqing to go abroad, and it is also the only state-owned enterprise that participates in international engineering general contracting and implementing foreign aid projects in Chongqing. It has three golden qualifications of Chinese Foreign Aid Whole-Set Projects, Foreign Aid Project General Contracting and Foreign Technical Assistance Project Implementation, having been awarded the highest credit rating of AAA as China's foreign contracting engineering enterprises for 8 consecutive years, and has been recommended as key global contractors by the China Foreign Contractors Association in 8 countries including Uganda. In recent years, CICO has always adhered to the strategy of "Head Outwards", focusing on the goal of "excellent transnational building service provider", making every effort to make progress, seizing development opportunities, and coordinating and promoting the coordinated development of domestic and overseas engineering businesses. In particular, the group closely follows the "Belt and Road" Initiative, deeply cultivates in African markets, and actively expands markets in Southeast Asia and South Asia. It has established African Headquarters in Africa. CICO has completed the market layout in Uganda, Kenya, Liberia, Tanzania, Rwanda, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Malaysia and other countries, basically forming a global engineering market structure of "exploring in one way, and expanding in the belt".
For more than 30 years, CICO has undertaken more than 200 international engineering projects in more than 20 countries overseas. Many projects have been well received by the host country’s government, owners, financial institutions such as the World Bank, and Chinese embassies for their fast progress and high quality. Many projects have won the China Construction Engineering Luban Award, the National Quality Engineering Award, the Chongqing Bayu Cup, and the Municipal Engineering Gold Cup Award.
